Three Bruins Earn All-NWC Weekly Honors

4/20/2026 4:30:00 PM

HILLSBORO, Ore. — The Northwest Conference office announced its Student-Athletes of the Week for April 14–20, with Lana Davis, Joshua Taylor, and Garrett Strube earning weekly honors.

Davis contributed in key areas for the Bruins in their back-to-back 20-goal victories. In Fox's game against Pacific Lutheran, she scored four goals and recorded a career-high nine assists, tying for the second-most single-game assists in program history, to lead the Bruins to a 23–3 win. Davis also won 10 draw controls and added six ground balls in the contest.

In the Bruins' 25–4 victory over Puget Sound, the senior midfielder scored five goals on seven shots (71%) and added two assists, helping Fox tie the program record for goals in a single game. She also won six draw controls while forcing five caused turnovers. This marks her fifth NWC Student-Athlete of the Week honor this season!

Taylor had one of the best weekends of his young collegiate career as the George Fox track and field team prepared for the NWC Championships. He was the top-finishing Division III thrower in the men's shot put at the Larry Byerly Invitational, posting a mark of 51-10.5—more than three feet farther than his nearest NWC competitor. His throw ranks as the top mark in the NWC this season, the 38th-best in the nation, the second-best in Division III among freshmen, and the second-longest in program history.

In addition to the shot put, Taylor placed eighth in the men's discus with a throw of 145-06. This is the first NWC field weekly honor for Taylor this season.

Strube had an outstanding weekend at the plate as the Bruins secured a 3–1 series upset over the No. 10 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Stags. Over four games, he recorded at least one hit and one run in each contest. Strube batted 7-for-12 (.583) on the weekend while also drawing five walks.

The Junior scored nine runs across the four games, including four in Fox's 12–6 victory on Friday. He also posted a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage during the series, good enough for his first NWC baseball player weekly honor this season.

Davis and the women's lacrosse team will play their final regular-season home game on Saturday, April 25. The Bruins will honor their seniors beginning at 12:35 p.m., with the game set to start at 1:00 p.m.

Meanwhile, Taylor and the track & field teams will compete at the Northwest Conference Championships, hosted by Whitworth in Spokane, Washington, from April 25–26. Strube and the baseball team will travel to Linfield on Wednesday, April 22, with first pitch scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
