GREENSBORO, N.C. -- The 2026 American Baseball Coaches Association NCAA Div. III Region All-Defensive teams have been announced in all 10 Regions — and for the first time ever, the Bruins placed a member on the roster.
Adam Fulton, who helped command the GFU infield at second base in 33 games, was one of nine players to be named to the Region X All-Defensive Team. Region X includes teams in the Northwest Conference, Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, and American Southwest Conference. Fulton was one of just two players from the NWC to be put on the list alongside pitcher Governor Aufranc of Pacific.
For the season, Fulton had a staggering 1.000 fielding percentage, not recording an error in the entire season on 161 chances. The sophomore had 75 putouts and 86 assists, and his diving saves of would-be singles quickly became a highlight for the Bruin baseball squad in 2026. Thanks in part to Fulton's efforts, the team improved its fielding in 2026, moving up from a .951 in 2025 to a .963 in 2026.
"Adam is a truly elite defender at his position." Bruin head coach
Kevin Kopple said, "He had a remarkable year, especially considering what we ask of him positioning-wise. It's a well deserved honor."
Since the All-Defensive regional teams were introduced by the ABCA in 2023, the Bruins had never fielded a member on the roster. Fulton becomes not only the first GFU member to be on the team, but just the seventh NWC player to earn the honor.
Fulton will be back at second base for the Bruins in 2027 as Fox looks to make a push for the NWC Tournament.
