Klein's Career Day Helps Bruins Finish Seventh

SPOKANE, Wash. -- The George Fox men's golf team closed out day two of the Whitworth Fall Invitational, the first course for their fall season. Fox slipped slightly, moving from sixth to seventh overall, finishing with a 587 (+19). 

Top Performances
Eli Harrell recorded a birdie on the front nine and parred 13 of his final 15 holes, finishing sixth overall just under par, with 141 (-1). The junior shot 74 (+3) on his second day to end in his sixth-place spot.

Otto Klein was next for the Bruins, putting together the best performance of his young career.. His back nine was right on the mark, notching two birdies with the rest right on par, to finish his day under par with a 69 (-2). He tied in 18th, 145 (+3). 

Ian MacArthur also showed out with a couple of birdies on the second and 10th holes to put him tied for 32nd overall with a 149 (+7), ending his day score tied with Harrell, 74 (+3). 

Christian Chacon and Blake Johnston brought up the rear, following suit and each hitting two birdies to put Chacon tied for 46th with a 152 (+10)  and Johnston 56th, totaling 161 (+19). Carson Colello and Chance Griffin competed individually for Fox, tying for 57th place, both with 167 (+25). 

The Bruins finished seventh as a team, hitting 587 (+19). Whitman came in first with an impressive 553 (-10); Linfield trailed behind, 567 (-1). Grady Brown on Whitman was crowned in first with 135 (-7), helping his team to victory. 

What Happens Next
The Bruins will travel to Dupont, Wash., on Monday, September 28th for the PLU Invite, with tee times TBA.
