DuPONT, Wash. -- The George Fox men's golf team finished the first day of the PLU Invite in 10th place with a score of 311 (+23).
Top Performances
George Fox's top golfer of the day was
Eli Harrell, who carded a 73 (+1) to tie for 13th place. Harrell recorded one birdie on both the front and the back nine, along with a five-hole par streak on the front and a three-hole streak on the back.
Ian MacArthur and
Chance Griffin followed, tying for 30th at 77 (+5). MacArthur collected a birdie on the back nine while Griffin saw two. Griffin also posted four consecutive pars on the front nine before adding another birdie.
Next up was Luke Pendergraft, who tied for 40th with a score of 79 (+7). He shot two birdies on the back nine and a three-hole par streak spanning the front and back nine.
Christian Chacon shot an 80 (+8) to tie for 44th, with one birdie in the front nine.
Blake Johnston tied for 48th, scoring an 81 (+9) and recording a birdie on the back nine.
Otto Klein ended the day tied for 51st place with an 83 (+11), highlighted by a birdie on the back nine.Â
On the front nine,
Carson Colello recorded his first eagle in his time at Fox. He also shot a birdie on the back nine. He ended in 53rd place with an 84 (+12).
The George Fox team shot a 311 (+23) to put them in 10th place. Whitman placed first with 286 (-2). Lewis & Clark's Joonho Moon led the individual standings with a score of 67 (-4).
What Happens Next
The Bruins will stay in Dupont, Wash., for the second day of the PLU Fall Invite on Tuesday, September 29. The shotgun start is scheduled for 9:00 a.m.
