SALEM, Ore. – Six
members of the George Fox University men's and women's
track teams competed in the distance events at the Willamette
University Invitational Friday afternoon and evening here at the
Charles Bowles Track, with the best showing by the Bruins a
fifth-place finish by Dylan Arana in the men's 5,000 meter
run.
Arana ran the 5,000 course in 15:30.98, a Northwest Conference
qualifying mark that would put him eighth in the event
standings. Joseph Pia came in eighth with a time of 15:34.53,
another NWC mark which would put him 11th in the conference.
In the men's 1,500 meter run, Allen Cassel came in 21st
with a time of 4:08.98, Tyler Magill was 34th in 4:14.48, and Kyle
Dreibelbis was 38th in 4:16.55.
Chelsea Sowards was the only Bruin to compete in any
women's events, coming in 25th in the 5,000 meter run with a
time of 19:55.76.
