FOREST GROVE, Ore. – A winning
men's javelin throw of 199-11 (60.93m) by Jon
Udlock of George Fox University Saturday here at the
Pacific University Luau Invitational track and field meet at
Lincoln Park Stadium was an NCAA Division III provisional
qualifying mark and the second-best distance in the Northwest
Conference this spring.
Udlock's feat was one of nine event wins and 30 NWC
qualifying marks achieved by Bruin athletes at the Pacific
Luau.
Men
Joining Udlock in the winner's circle for the George Fox
men were Nate Dillow in the 110 meter hurdles (15.31), and Kai
Ojala in the high jump (6-4 / 1.93m).
Seconds were taken by Kyle Dreibelbis in the 3,000 meter
steeplechase (10:17.90), and Arick Morrell in the discus (136-9 /
41.68m).
Thirds went to Matt Romey in the 800 meter run (1:58.47), Tyler
Magill in the 3,000 steeplechase (10:37.58), Zach Pankratz in the
triple jump (42-9.75 / 13.05m), and the 4x100 meter relay team of
Clinton Mitchell, Weldin Yanes, Connor Koch and Pankratz
(45.33).
All the above times were NWC qualifiers. Other conference
qualifying marks were posted by Austin Morrell in the 800
(2:00.06), and Arick Morrell in the hammer (151-1 / 46.06m).
Women
There were six first-place finishes by the Bruin women,
including Irene Johnson in the 100 meter dash (12.67) and the 100
meter hurdles (15.23), Frances Pavao in the high jump (5-1.75 /
1.57m), Emily Davison in the long jump (17-6.25 / 5.34m), Angie
Miller in the triple jump (35-3.75 / 10.76m), and Marlee Zakrevsky
in the hammer (153-8 / 46.84m).
Finishing second were Niki Stilwill in the 100 hurdles (17.25)
and the pole vault (10-5.25 / 3.18m), Olivia Fleming in the 400
meter hurdles (1:09.86), Miller in the long jump (17-0.75 / 5.20m),
and Rachael Adkins in the triple jump (34-7.75 / 10.56m).
Thirds were garnered by Rachel Meis in the 200 meter dash
(26.78), Adkins in the long jump (16-1 / 4.90m), Emily Davison in
the triple jump (33-3.75 / 10.15m), Morgan Shoup in the discus
(113-3 / 34.51m), and Hana Fisher in the hammer (135-2 /
41.19m).
All the above were NWC qualifiers. Other conference
qualifying marks were posted by Meis in the 100 (13.28), Kate
Freiheit in the 800 meter run (2:25.17), Esther Harder in the long
jump (15-9 / 4.80m), and Shoup in the hammer (115-6 / 35.20m).

NEXT: Six Bruins will compete in the upcoming
Northwest Conference Multi-Events Monday-Tuesday, April 11-12, at
Whitworth University in Spokane, Wash.: David and Nate Dillow
in the decathlon, and Beth Stam, Alexis Arnold, Alyssa Turner and
Melissa Leighty in the heptathlon. The NWC Multis count for
points toward the NWC Championships, the rest of which will take
place April 22-23 at Linfield College in McMinnville, Ore. ... The
next event for the entire squads will be the Bruins' own Rich
Allen Classic, named for a former long-time George Fox coach, on
Saturday, April 16, starting at 10:00 a.m.
