NEWBERG, Ore. – Stepping outside the
Northwest Conference for their fourth win of the season, the George
Fox University Bruins picked up an 8-1 victory over the Bellevue
College Bulldogs, a team that is transitioning from the Washington
junior college ranks to four-year status, in women's tennis
action Sunday afternoon here at the GFU campus courts.
The Bruins cruised through the doubles matches, starting with
their No. 11 NCAA Division III West Region-ranked team of Molly
Beaumont and Shaina Inn, who took an 8-1 victory
at No. 1 over Rixing Xu and Sadie Dedon 8-1. At No. 2, Krista
Rey and Ali Diehl dealt Barb Smith and Kristi Nasu an 8-2 setback,
while Alissandra Wittrig and Aleassa Wren knocked off Naline Long
and Lorraine Eng 8-1 at No. 3.
Bellevue notched its only singles win at No. 1 as Xu downed
Beaumont 6-4, 6-0. The Bruins swept the rest of the matches
in straight sets with Alyssa Emoto over Smith 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2,
Hadeed over Dedon 6-1, 6-0 at No. 3, Inn over Long 6-0, 6-0 at No.
4, Bethany Nguyen over Nasu 6-0, 6-1 at No. 5, and Megan Dahlberg
over Eng 6-0, 6-3 at No. 6.

for a conference contest Tuesday at 3:00 p.m. ... Bellevue (0-3)
