SALEM, Ore. --- George Fox University played in a non-conference match-up Saturday, as the women's tennis team took down the Bearcats of Willamette University, 6-3 and 8-1.

With the win, the Bruins improve to a 2-0 start on their season, while the Bearcats open their season at 0-2.

The Bruins opened up the first match of the day dominating in doubles after Kwong/Barnes and Hadeed/Arnold both earned the win. The Bearcats battled back and had their #1 and #2 win in singles, but Hadeed, Barnes, Diehl and Teppo finished the up the match giving the Bruins a 6-3 victory.

In the second match of the day, the Bruins came out with full force taking down the Bearcats in a dominating fashion. GFU swept the Bearcats in doubles after the #1, #2 and #3 teams won 8-3.

The Bearcats only win in the second match came from their #1 in a tight match.
