NEWBERG, Ore. --- It was a crisp and beautiful day out at Austin Sports Complex Monday night, as the George Fox lacrosse team hosted St. Mary's College for a non-conference match-up.

The Bruins showed their force in the game, beating the Belles, 16-1. George Fox improves to 4-0 on the season, while St. Mary's kicks off their 2015 season with a loss.

No one was shy on the offensive end for the Bruins, as nine different players netted a goal. Miranda Edwords was the goal leader on the night, scoring four times on five shots and recording one assist. She finished her night with five points. Alexa Nakashimada was right behind her with a hat-trick and two assists, which led the team.

The Bruins scored 12 goals in the first and four in the second, while the Belles snuck one by Northwest Conference Women's Lacrosse Defensive Student-Athlete of the Week, Kaylee Kolin. Kolin finished her night with five saves on 11 shot attempts.

Mikaela Easterlin, Rachel Gibbs and Chrisine Doherty all netted two apiece, while Ashlie Hernandez, Katelyn Bradshaw and Taylor Suwa scored one apiece. It was both Bradshaw's and Suwa's first goal of the season.

The Bruins will host Ohio Wesleyan on Thursday, March 12 at 6:00 p.m. and Whittier on Saturday, March 14 at 5:00 p.m.
