Box Score NEWBERG, Ore. --- The George Fox women's lacrosse team hosted the undefeated Boxers of Pacific University, Wednesday night.
The Boxers opened up the first half with a quick goal in the first 40 seconds, but the Bruins responded well, as Alexa Nakashimada netted the equalizer at the 24:56 mark.
Boxer' Amy Mayhugh opened up the game for the Boxers, as she scored three goals in a row to lift the Boxers to a 4-1 lead. Miranda Edwords answered back for the Bruins tallying one a couple minutes later, but Pacific again went on a deep run. The Bruins finished the first half with a huge three goal run to cut the deficit to three, 8-5.
In the start of the second half, the Boxers scored four straight goals from the 28:20 mark to the 18:48 mark to separate from the Bruins. The Bruins wouldn't go down without a fight, though, as the team rallied back to end the game with three straight goals.
With the loss, the Bruins fall to 9-4 on the season and 3-2 in the Northwest Conference, while the Boxers improve to 11-1 and 6-0 in conference play.
