ORLANDO, Fla. --- The Bruins had a full slate on Sunday as they continued their series in Florida. Though the Bruins began the day with a 9-0 loss to Augustana University, they rebounded to blank Elmhurst later in the day, 9-0.
Recap:
Game One
Against Augustana, the Bruins never looked quite comfortable, stringing together good runs of play but unable to put together a complete performance over an entire match. In the #1 doubles match, Sarah Tuemmler and Kristen Mock lost 8-0 to Kornelia Staniszewska and Jessa Richards. Catrina Kwong and Ellen Pearson fared better in the #2 match but fell short to Sydney Postal and Berkley Darr, 8-3. In the #3 match, Andrea Motley and Ali Diehl lost 8-2 to Meredith Lawrence and Christine Olivo.
In the singles, Tuemmler lost in straight sets to Staniszewska, 6-1, 6-1. Kwong had a strong first set but lost the #2 match to Richards, 6-4, 6-1. Taylor Barnes, in the #3 match, was beaten by Postal, 6-0, 6-1. Pearson took the first set of the #4 match, but Darr came back to win the second and the tiebreaker, 4-6, 6-2 (10-8). Motley lost the #5 match to Lawrence, 6-1, 6-1. Diehl played well in her loss to Olivo in the #6 match, 6-2, 6-4.
Game Two
The Bruins had a short memory after Sunday morning's loss, and they responded by sweeping aside Elmhurst, 9-0, in the afternoon. The toughest match of the day was the #1 doubles match, in which Tuemmler and Mock were held off by Ava Kolman and Rachel Rettger, but the Bruins prevailed, 8-6. Kwong and Pearson had an easier go in the #2 match, defeating Chiara Gaudio and Hannah Vaselaney, 8-3. In the #3 match, Motley and Diehl blanked Tori Liewergen and Camile Knapik-Balch, 8-0.
In the singles competition, Tuemmler overcame Kolman, 6-2, 6-2. Kwong topped Gaudio in the #2 match, 6-1, 6-1. Taylor Barnes was at the top of her game against Rettger, winning the #3 match, 6-1, 6-2. Pearson outmatched Vaselaney in the #4 match, 6-0, 6-0. In the #5 match, Motley kept Liewergen moving, taking the match 6-0, 6-1. Diehl won the #6 match after an embittered first set, 6-4, 6-1.

The Bruins sit at 9-5 overall after Sunday's action.
