TACOMA, Wash. --- After a long day on the courts on Saturday, the George Fox women's tennis team was back at it again, and this time with a huge win over Puget Sound, 8-1.

With a split on Saturday, the Bruins were determined to leave the weekend on the plus side of the margin. George Fox started the match off with excellent play in doubles, taking a 2-1 lead heading into singles. Sarah Tuemmler and Ellen Pearson teamed up at the No. 2 spot and beat Claire Fitzgerald and Tressa Bild, 8-3. Andrea Motley and Ali Diehl also picked up the pace at the No. 3 spot with an 8-2 victory over Kyla Richards and Mei Roen.
The Bruins got their bread and butter in singles play, though, as the Bruins swept all six spots in straight sets. No. 1 Tuemmler defeated her opponent (6-2, 6-0), and No. 2 Barnes won (6-1, 6-3). Catrina Kwong won at the No. 3 spot (6-2, 6-0), while Pearson swept the No. 4 spot (6-1, 6-0). Both Motley and Ilsa Teppo closed up the match with huge victories in the No. 5 and 6 spots.
What It Means:
With the win, the Bruins improve to 4-2 on the season and 3-1 in the Northwest Conference. The Bruins are now in fourth in the NWC standings.

The Bruins will stay on the road as they face Lewis & Clark next Saturday on March 12 at 12:00 p.m.
