SPOKANE, Wash. --- The George Fox women's tennis team put up a good effort on Saturday, but fell to the Pirates of Whitworth, 7-2.

After falling 3-0 in doubles, the Bruins did a nice job of hanging tough in singles. Sarah Tuemmler showed why she is so tough at the No. 1 spot with a 6-3, 6-2 win over Bella Hoyos. The Pirates went on to secure victories in the No. 2 and 3 spots, but Ellen Pearson won for the Bruins at the No. 4 spot with a 7-5, 6-1 win.
Catrina Kwong and Andrea Motley had notable finishes at the No. 2 and No. 5 spot for the Bruins. Kwong forced three sets with a 6-4, 1-6, 7-6 (7-2) loss, while Motley battled Anabelle Burns to a 6-2, 3-6, 6-0 score line.
What It Means:
The Bruins stand at 9-7 overall and 4-3 in the Northwest Conference.

The Bruins are back in action tomorrow on Sunday against Whitman.
