Bruins Split Twin Bill With Loggers

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

TACOMA, Wash. --- It was an exciting two games out on the diamond on Saturday, as the George Fox baseball team split with Puget Sound.

Recap:
Game 1

George Fox drew blood first in the top of the second as Clay Mott drove a ball to right center, scoring Kyle Esquerra for the first run of the game. Puget Sound responded in the bottom half of the inning, hanging three runs on the scoreboard after Ben Jones homored down the left field line.

Kadyn Nannini answered back for the Bruins in the top of the fourth with a solo home run over the left field fence, and Caylen Clardy doubled down the right field line to tie the game up, 3-3. The Bruins regained the lead in the fifth with two more runs, but the Loggers hung around with a run of their own in the bottom of the fifth.

The Loggers bagged two more runs in the bottom of the seventh after a fielder's choice RBI and a sacrifice fly that scored the other. The Bruins weren't done, though, as they rallied and scored two runs in the eighth to take a 7-6 lead. It all started with two outs, as Mott reached on a fielding error and Caylen Clardy smashed a ball over the left field fence to take the lead.

The Loggers responded with a run of their own in the bottom half of the eighth to force a tie, and a single through the right side gave the Loggers the walk off win in the ninth.
