NEWBERG, Ore. --- The Bruins came back from an early 3-1 deficit to trounce Puget Sound 17-5 on Saturday afternoon to conclude their regular season schedule. Miranda Edwords racked up five goals, and Ashlie Hernandez and Jess Hanson both bagged hat-tricks.

Recap:
The Bruins's Rachel Gibbs scored an unassisted goal just fifty seconds in to open the scoring, but Puget Sound answered with three quick goals. Izzy Amaya scored first, Gracie Phillips grabbed the second , and Kerri Smith, who assisted on both previous goals, netted the third.

Unexpectedly down 3-1, the Bruins were unable to bread down the Loggers's defense until Miranda Edwords scored a goal man-down, cutting in sharply from the right wing. Five minutes later, Ashlie Hernandez drew the Bruins level, slotting home a close-range shot.

Two quick goals from Christine Doherty and Jess Hanson put the Bruins up 5-3, and two more goals from Edwords, plus one from Alexa Nakashimada, gave the Bruins an 8-3 lead.

Having regained the momentum, the Bruins kept rolling through the second half. Seconds after the restart, Nakashimada slipped a clever pass to Doherty, who scored her second goal. Edwords finished her hat-trick soon after, again cutting in from the right. Another goal from Hernandez made the score 11-3.

The Bruins cooled through the middle of the second half, until Hernandez found Hanson on the left, who smashed in another goal. Soon after, the Bruins ripped off another three goals: Edwords, Hernandez, and Nakashimada scored over a quick two minutes.

Marlissa Winglett and Roxanne Krietzman got on the scoresheet for the Bruins, and Jess Hanson scored again with four minutes left.

Kerri Smith got one more for Puget Sound with thirty second left to make the final 17-5.

Top Performers:
