SALEM, Ore. --- The George Fox women's tennis team cruised to a 9-0 victory on Saturday, as the Bruins defeated the Bearcats of Willamette at the WU Tennis Courts.

The Bruins got off to a strong start in the match after winning all three doubles. Sarah Tuemmler and Taylor Barnes had the toughest draw of the day at the No. 1 spot, taking down Mikaila Smith and Alexis Gjurasic, 8-5. Kristen Mock and Andrea Motley competed at the No. 2 spot and kept the sheet clean with an 8-0 victory. Ali Diehl and Catrina Kwong mirrored their teammate's performance at the No. 3 spot with the exact same score (8-0).
With a comfortable lead headed into singles, Ilsa Teppo kept the momentum alive with a 6-1, 6-0 win over Katie Adams at No. 4 singles. Ellen Pearson won at No. 2 singles with a 6-0, 6-0 victory and Emily Brink played for the Bruins at the No. 6 spot and won 6-3, 6-1. Tuemmler continued to show her strength at No. 1 singles with a 6-2, 6-2 win.

The Bruins are now 10-8 on the season and 5-4 in the Northwest Conference.

George Fox will finish the season at home with a match on Sunday, April 10 against Puget Sound, and two matches next weekend at home on April 16 and 17. The match on Sunday will start at 10:00 a.m.
