MCMINNVILLE, Ore. --- The George Fox women's tennis team kicked off the 20017 season against California University of Technology, Sunday morning, falling to the Beavers, 8-1.

Recap:
Both teams entered the match ranked in the Top 25 in the Oracle/ITA Division III Women's West Regional Rankings. The Beavers are currently ranked No. 16, while the Bruins sit at No. 18.

Sarah Tuemmler was the bright spot in the lineup, as the senior opened up the season with a straight set win over Julia Reisler at the No. 1 spot. Tuemmler won her match with a 6-2, 6-2 decisive victory. Kristen Mock performed well for the Bruins at the No. 5 spot, falling in three sets to Vinci Chen.

The Bruins kick off Northwest Conference play against the Pirates of Whitworth Saturday, Feb. 18, at 10a.m.
