ARDEN HILLS, MINN. --- The No. 12-ranked George Fox women's basketball team traveled to Minnesota to take on tough out-of-conference opponent Bethel University, dropping a close one, 68-64.

Recap:

Bethel opened up the game with a quick 5-0 run.

Solid play from the Bruins led to the game remaining tied at 7-7 until just under four minutes left in the first quarter.

Kaitlin Jamieson powered the Bruins in the first, tallying six points and two blocks. Her play helped George Fox earn a 15-11 lead before beginning the second period of play.

The second quarter went back and forth as both teams were able to set up their offenses and find the back of the net in rhythm.

Haley Strowbridge got hot in the second, tallying nine points on 2-2 from deep and 3-3 from the field. The game was tied at 29 apiece heading into the halftime break.

The third quarter followed the pattern of the previous two as both teams remained neck-in-neck. Jamieson continued her solid play, racking up eight points and five rebounds in the third quarter alone to keep the Bruins in the game.

Bethel held a narrow 52-51 lead heading into the final period of play.

The Bruins had a hard time finding the back of the net in the fourth, but even so the game remained close. Tied at 58-58 with just under three minutes left, the home team was able to hit a couple free throws and a layup to keep the Bruins at a distance.

Bethel went a perfect 10-10 from the charity stripe in the fourth to close out a narrow win, 68-64.

Top Performers:

Jamieson had another dominant game, tallying 22 points, 12 rebounds and six blocks in the contest. Strowbridge finished in double-figures as well with 10 points.

Emily Spencer turned in a solid game as well, dropping seven dimes while managing to rack up a pair of steals.

What It Means:

The Bruins move to 2-1 on the season.

The Bruins continue their road trip in Minnesota on Nov. 26 with a game against St. Thomas at 1:00pm.
