George Fox responded in the bottom of the third after Dillon Blankenship worked himself a walk. Matt Voelzke singled through the right side, and Connor Newell reached on a fielder's choice to advance both Blankenship and Voelzke. With the bases loaded, the Bruins were on the receiving end on an error by the Bulldogs to score the Bruins' first run. Kyle Esquerra singled to centerfield with two outs on the board to bring home the final two runs of the inning.
Redlands managed to score one more in the fourth and two more in the fifth before the George Fox pitching staff settled in. In fact, the Bruins kept the Bulldogs off the board for the remainder of the game.
