NEWBERG, Ore. --- The George Fox baseball team picked up two big wins Saturday, as they clinched the Northwest Conference series against the Willamette Bearcats in a doubleheader.

Recap:
Game One:

Dustin Wells got plenty of run support as the lefty went seven strong innings allowing five hits while striking out five.

Brandon Wileman's RBI double in the bottom of the second inning gave the Bruins an early 1-0 and they never looked back. A single from Sam Swenson in the bottom of the third added two more runs and Bruins led 3-0 after three.

Zachery Muenster led off the bottom of the fifth inning with a solo home run. After Matt Voelzke and Kyle Esquerra reached base, Andrew Reichenbach sent one deep to right field, his second home run of the season.

After the Bearcats picked up two runs in the top of the sixth, Muenster added to the Bruins' lead with an RBI single, making the score 8-2.

Despite giving up two runs in the eighth, the Bruins breezed through the ninth to seal an 8-4 win.

Game Two:
Willamette struck first on an RBI single in the top of the first. In the bottom of the second, the Bruins responded. With two strikes, Gavin Speegle doubled to right driving in Wileman and Reichenbach. In the next at bat, AJ Valencia knocked in Speegle and the Bruins took a 3-1 lead.

The Bruins led the rest of the way and took a 3-2 lead into the bottom of the sixth when Wileman's solo homer gave the Bruins a 4-2 advantage.

In the bottom of the seventh, the Bruins picked up four more runs to extend their lead. An RBI single by Reichenbach and three-run home run by Swenson gave the Bruins an 8-2 lead they wouldn't relinquish.
