Bruins Grab Spot In NWC Tournament

PORTLAND, Ore. --- The George Fox women's tennis team closed out the Northwest Conference schedule Friday, as the Bruins fell to Lewis & Clark College, 9-0.

Recap:
The Bruins had their hands full to the third best team in the NWC, but stayed competitive throughout. Sarah Tuemmler teamed up with Ilsa Teppo at No. 3 doubles with a tough loss at 8-4. Catrina Kwong and Kristen Mock also had back and forth match at No. 1 doubles. The pair fell to top-ranked Christine Eliazo and Wiktoria Plawska, 8-5.

The Bruins weren't able to grab a point in singles, but Kwong was the only Bruin to force a third set. Kwong took on No. 44-ranked Eliazo with a 2-6, 6-2, 1-0 (10-7). Tuemmler also faced a top-ranked opponent at No. 1 singles.

What It Means:
The loss leaves the Bruins at 11-9 on the season and 7-5 in the NWC. They have secured a spot in the NWC Tournament. This marks the third straight winning season for the Bruins.

The Bruins await play in the NWC Tournament
