Box Score NEWBERG, Ore. --- For the first time in program history, the George Fox women's lacrosse team sealed the deal as Northwest Conference Champions with a decisive 15-4 win over the Linfield Wildcats, Saturday afternoon.

The Bruins shared the title with the Boxers of Pacific University in 2016, but earned full rights this season with the win over the 'Cats.
The Bruins opened up the flood gates early, jumping out to a 10-0 lead in the first eight minutes of the game. Miranda Edwords, Christine Doherty, Madison Strickland, Jess Hanson, Jennifer Burke and Grace Matteson all participated in the Bruins' scoring efforts in the early going.
After the 10-0 lead, the Bruins slowed the pace of play and went into the half with a 12-1 advantage.
Both teams managed to end the game with three goals apiece.
The Bruins were dominant on the draw controls, winning 16 of the 20.
Top Performers:
In an all-around scoring effort, Hanson led the squad with four goals and two assists. Edwords and Burke both finished with three each, while Burke tallied three assists.
What It Means:
The Bruins are one win away from a program-best undefeated conference season. A win tomorrow would also set a new program record with most wins in a single-season. The previous record was set in 2015 at 11-5.
What Comes Next:
The Bruins host the Loggers of Puget Sound Sunday, April 23, at 12p.m. The game marks senior day for the Bruins, who will honor their first-ever four-year class.
