NEWBERG, Ore. --- The George Fox baseball team concluded its season against the Boxers of Pacific Monday, as the Bruins fell in a nonconference game, 12-7.

Recap:
The Boxers were able to score in seven of the nine innings and scatter 17 hits across the field.

Despite trailing 7-0 after the first five innings, the Bruins were able to show some fight scoring two in the bottom of the sixth and one in the bottom of the eighth.

The Bruins really showed some grit in the fourth inning, hanging a four across the scoreboard led by their seniors.

Connor Newell was able to get on by a hit by pitch, and Brandon Wileman singled up the middle to put runners on first and second. Dillon Blankenship came in to pinch hit for Kyle Esquerra, and drilled a single to right center to score Newell and move Wileman to third. Jalen Drath worked a full count and drew a walk to load the bases. Zachery Muenster had a great final at bat with another walk to bring home another run. Jantzen Tamanaha had one of the more impressive at bats on the day, battling back from a 1-2 count to 3-2. After nine pitches, Tamanaha delivered a single to left field, which scored Blankenship and Drath.

The Bruins finished the game with seven hits and seven runs.

Top Performers:
Tamanaha was able to go 1-1 at the plate with two RBIs. Seniors Muenster, Wileman, Reichenbach, Blankenship, Drath and Newell all had an impact on the game. Nathan Higa also had a great performance, getting the Bruins out of a late jam with bases loaded.

What It Means:
The Bruins finish the season 18-20 on the season.

What Comes Next:
The Bruins will head into the summer with multiple players playing summer ball to gear up for the 2018 season.
