ORLANDO --- The George Fox women's tennis team played a doubleheader on Monday at the USTA National Campus, as they beat St. Olaf, 5-4, and lost to Luther College, 7-2.

Match One vs. St. Olaf
The St. Olaf Oles grabbed a pair of victories in doubles play to take a 2-1 lead. Sophia Lawrence and Laney Search grabbed the Bruins' lone point in doubles, winning an 8-4 matchup over Ellie Bergstrand and Emily Otteson.
The Bruins, however, went on to take four of the six points in singles play to edge the Oles, 5-4. Jillian Studer won her match at the No. 1 spot, 6-1, 6-2, and Alyssa Byde took down her match at the No. 6 spot, 6-0, 6-0. Taylor Morris and Lawrence proved to be the factors in singles, as they both took points at the No. 5 and 2 spots, respectively.
The Bruins' two losses in singles play came by a three-set match and a back-and-forth tiebreaker.
Match Two vs. Luther College
The Bruins had a tough time keeping up with Luther College in the second match of the day. The Norse swept doubles play, but Sophia Lawrence and Laney Search nearly pulled off the 8-7 loss at the No. 2 spot.
The Norse secured the victory after wins at the No. 1, 3, 6, and 4 spots to take a 7-0 advantage. Lawrence grabbed the Bruins' first point at the No. 2 spot with a 6-3, 6-2 victory. Morris secured a 6-2, 6-0, victory at the No. 5 spot to finish off the match with a 7-2 final score.
What It Means:
The Bruins are now 4-11 on the season.

The Bruins will have one final match to end their spring break trip against Wisconsin-Oshkosh on Tuesday, March 26, at 6:30 am (PST).
