Box Score NEWBERG, Ore. --- The George Fox women's lacrosse team hosted Pacific (Ore.) on Saturday, Mar. 13, and won going away with a dominant 23-1 final score.
How It Happened
The Bruins won the opening draw control and immediately went on the attack as Bailey Faust fed Carleigh DeLapp for a score with less than a minute ticking off the scoreboard for the tally. DeLapp scored again less than a minute later, unassisted, for what proved to be the game-winner.
The Bruins cruised to a 15-0 lead at the half behind early hat tricks from DeLapp and Andrea Garcia-Milla. Julia Quist completed her hat trick after the halftime intermission, as did Madison Strickland, and the Bruins powered through and kept possession throughout the game to take the 23-1 win.
The Bruins won the ground ball battle, the draw control battle, and stayed a perfect 6-for-6 on clearing opportunities in the win.
Top Performers
DeLapp led all scorers with five goals, while Garcia-Milla put in three and helped on four more to lead the team in points. Kyra Barnes matched Garcia-Milla with four assists, and Ella Rand kept a clean sheet in the first half to earn her third win of the year.

"As a staff we were really pleased with how the girls played today!" head coach Katie Brand said after the win. "It felt great to be back on our home field and play as cohesively as we did."

The Bruins improve to 3-0 on the year while the Boxers drop to 0-2 after their first week of action.

The Bruins will be back at home on Saturday and Sunday, Mar. 20 & 21, to host Puget Sound in a weekend back-to-back slate.
