TACOMA, Wash. --- George Fox women's tennis opened its 2021 Northwest Conference slate with an 8–1 win against the Lutes on the road.

The Bruins swept doubles play behind an 8-5 win from Sophia Lawrence and Laney Search at no. 1 doubles, an 8-6 win at no. 2 doubles from Olivia Morris and Ellie Mangan, and an 8-0 sweep from Taylor Morris and Danielle Brown.
The Bruins lost the no. 1 singles matchup after a hard-fought effort from Lawrence in a 6-2, 7-5 final decision, but they won the remaining matchups. T. Morris won her no. 2 singles test 6-2, 6-1, Mangan finished 6-4, 6-0, O. Morris won 6-3, 6-4, and Alyssa Byde won no. 5 singles 6-0, 6-2. Emily McDonald won the sixth flight 6-0, 6-3 to finish off the match.

The Bruins improve to 2-0 on the season and 1-0 in NWC action while the Lutes fall to 1-2 overall and 0-2 in conference play.
