NEWBERG, Ore. --- The George Fox Bruins took care of business on Saturday, Mar. 20, beating the Puget Sound Loggers in dominant fashion, 18-4.
How it Happened
The Blue and Gold offensive barrage was rolling today. Though the Loggers drew first blood in the fifth minute, this game was all Bruins. Madison Strickland made her first goal in the seventh, opening the pipelines for 11 more goals in the half, including three in a row off the stick of Kyra Barnes. Puget Sound kept their composure and rallied for three goals in the second half, but six more goals for the Bruins stifled any chance of a comeback.
Top Performers
Barnes led the Bruins with six goals, followed closely by Strickland with four. Sydney Thatch, Bailey Faust, and Carleigh DeLapp all finished with two goals. In her home opener, Holly Esposito found the back of the net for her first goal of the season and Andrea Garcia-Milla's crisp passes helped her finish with five assists. Goalkeepers Ella Rand and Emma Webb anchored the Fox defense for a combined five saves.
