Box Score NEWBERG, Ore. --- The George Fox lacrosse team earned its fifth win of the season on Sunday, Mar. 21, after putting in 20 goals against the Loggers.
How It Happened
The Bruins scored first and continue to do so in bunches throughout the opening half. By the halftime intermission, the Bruins already had a running block with a 13-0 lead.
Part of that first half shutout was due to stellar play from keeper Ella Rand, as the junior net-minder stopped multiple point blank shots and several free position attempts.
In the second half with the game already well in hand, the Bruins outscored the Loggers 7-2 and continued to win the possession and turnover battles to close out the game.
Top Performers
Rand's performance in goal was impressive and serves as a testament to her continued development during her time in the Bruins' program. Madison Strickland led the Bruins with four goals, and Kyra Barnes, Sydney Thatch, Andrea Garcia-Milla, and Carleigh DeLapp joined her with three goals apiece.
What It Means
The Bruins improve to 5-0 on the year while the Loggers start their season 0-2.
What Happens Next
George Fox will face Willamette twice next weekend in a return to games that count for the NWC season standings.
