Box Score SALEM, Ore. --- The George Fox lacrosse program earned another win and finished its sweep of the season series against Willamette with a 16-4 win over the Bearcats.
How It Happened
The Bruins started the day on a tear, as has been the standard, and took a 9-2 lead into the halftime intermission. Kyra Barnes, Sydney Thatch, Carleigh DeLapp, Marena Tharpe, and Madison Strickland each put in at least one goal apiece in the opening half to build the lead.
The Bruins scored five straight in the second half to turn on the running clock with a ten-goal lead and continued to press the attack all afternoon. Holly Esposito added a pair of goals in the second half, and DeLapp, Barnes, Thatch, and Tharpe notched hat tricks with single tallies in the second half.
Top Performers
While she didn't net a goal herself, Andrea Garcia-Milla set up her teammates all day and finished with six assists and five ground balls. Tharpe won seven draws and caused two turnovers, and Thatch was able to put all four shots on goal, including three in the net.
What It Means
The Bruins improve to 7-0 overall and 5-0 in games that count for the NWC standings, pushing their undefeated NWC streak to 35-0 dating to the 2018 season.
What Happens Next
George Fox will host Puget Sound again for two games that will count to the NWC standings. The Bruins have already outscored the Loggers 38-6 this season in two previous meetings.
