Box Score TACOMA, Wash. --- George Fox baseball wrapped up its first road trip of 2021 with a win over Pacific Lutheran after a solid performance from freshman Ben Wills on the hill.
How It Happened
The Bruins and Lutes traded scoreless half-innings for the first four frames as both teams' starting pitchers found their groove. In the top of the fifth, the Bruins were able to string together enough offense for the win. An error and a walk put Leon Johnson III and Travis Miller on base and a double into right field from Chase Fetzer plated both for a 2-0 lead.
Wills worked one last scoreless frame in the sixth and Austin Hallman retired the side in the seventh with a backwards K and a double-play ball to seal the 2-0 win.
Top Performers
Wills gets the nod here after working six scoreless innings with three punchouts and three hits scattered through the outing. Fetzer's two-RBI double was part of a solid 2-for-3 performance at the plate.
What It Means
George Fox improves to 8-7 overall and 3-4 in NWC action this season but rain canceled the final scheduled game of the series, giving it to PLU 2-1.

The Bruins will host Puget Sound on Apr. 2 & 3 to continue their Northwest Conference slate.
