Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

PORTLAND, Ore. --- George Fox baseball earned two wins on day one of a four-game weekend series after dusting off their bats to the tune of 18 RBI and 23 runs.

How It Happened

In game one, the Bruins blew the game wide open with four runs in the second inning. The Pioneers got one run back in the third, but the Bruins pushed in five in the fourth with a three-run shot from Jeremy Sangalang and a two-run blast by Chase Fetzer to take a 9-1 lead and put the game all the way at the back of the freezer. Marc Audet added a solo shot in the seventh and an RBI single in the ninth, and an RBI single from Breyndon Nakamura put the candles on the cake in a 12-2 win in game one. Christopher Stone was effective with nine punchouts through six and two thirds to earn his third win and Andrew Sutherland closed it out with two and third innings of one-hit shutout baseball.

In game two, the Bruins broke up a scoreless game with two runs in the fourth innings after back-to-back jacks from Fetzer and Audet. Audet homered a third time in the fifth to make it 5-0, and the Bruins blew the game up with six runs in the seventh to finish the day with an 11-1 win in game two. Sean Wiese worked six innings and scattered three hits and six shutouts throughout the outing, and Austin Hallman shut it down in the seventh with a shutout inning and a punchout.

Top Performers

Audet hit .625 with three homers, six runs, five RBI, and a 2.417 on-base+slugging rate. Fetzer was right behind him with two homers, three RBI, and a double.
