NEWBERG, Ore. --- George Fox men's basketball came away with the win in tonight's game against the Pacific (Ore.) Boxers with a 115-88 final to avenge a one-point loss in the previous matchup in Miller Gym.
How it Happened
The Bruins kicked things off with a three-point jump shot by Brendan Ritschard and from that point on, it became a three-point shootout with the lead changing hands several times in the early minutes. This continued until the Bruins took the lead away from the Boxers with 12 minutes left and then widened the gap from there. The Bruins' 10-lead remained until the Boxers turned it into a five-point game at the half, 49-54.
The second half began in much the same fashion as the end of the first, right up until James Moore made a three-pointer to push the Bruins past a 10-point lead with 16 minutes left. After that, it was the Bruins' game as they further distanced themselves from the Boxers, swiftly turning a 10-point game into a 20-point game. Seven Bruins were able to score 10 or more as they beat the Boxers' press over and over for layups and open jumpers.
The Bruins came out on top with a final score of 88-115 as they continued to defeat the Boxers' press and made their foul shots and layups.
