Box Score SPOKANE, Wash. --- The George Fox lacrosse team picked up its tenth win of the season on Sunday, Apr. 18, with a 23-2 win over the Whitworth Pirates.
How It Happened
Sydney Thatch scored the first goal of the game less than two minutes in to kick things off. A few moments later the Bruins put in a pair of goals separated by less than 30 seconds with good looks from Kyra Barnes and Carleigh DeLapp, and the rout was on from there. Marena Tharpe and Madison Strickland joined Barnes, DeLapp, and Thatch in the scoring parade during the first half. At the break, the Bruins led 13-2 and had a running clock for the last 4:39 of the opening 30 minutes.
In the second half the Bruins kept the pedal down and put up a 10-0 run from the opening whistle through the final horn. Bailey Faust found her way on the scoresheet twice with two unassisted goals, Andrea Garcia-Milla and Julia Quist put in one apiece, and Strickland, Thatch, and DeLapp kept the charge going in the dominating series-capper.
Top Performers
DeLapp led all players with six goals, while Barnes, Thatch, and Strickland scored four each. Andrea Garcia-Milla dished out a team-high five dimes, and Ella Rand made two saves in her tenth win in-goal this season.
What It Means
The Bruins stay undefeated and break double-digits on the wins column with a 10-0 record, including an 8-0 conference mark. Whitworth falls to 0-6 on the year.
