Box Score NEWBERG, Ore. --- The George Fox lacrosse team got its 11th win of the year with a 23-2 final against Pacific (Ore.) on Saturday, Apr. 24.
How It Happened
The Bruins got off to a slower-than-standard start in the opening minutes of the game, but Madison Strickland and Sydney Thatch were able to take the lid off with a goal in the third minute. Strickland added another 14 seconds later, and Kyra Barnes scored what would be the game-winner a few minutes later. The Boxers put in two to stop the Bruins' run but Fox had plenty in answer by the break. Carleigh DeLapp tallied three goals by the half and Andrea Garcia-Milla added two, and Marena Tharpe helped set the tone for the half with a goal in the final minute for a 12-2 lead.
It was all Bruins in the second half as they put in 11 unanswered to take the win in dominating fashion. Garcia-Milla and DeLapp got the rally started, and Thatch joined Holly Esposito, Olivia Geyling, and Zoe Jorgensen to make it a 23-2 rout by the final horn.
Top Performers
DeLapp led with five goals, while Strickland and Garcia-Milla each put in four. Garcia-Milla notched a team-high 10 points with four goals and six assists. Barnes was everywhere for the Bruins with two goals, four assists, and five draw controls. Tharpe led with six of the Bruins' 18 draw controls.
What It Means
The Bruins have now won 13 in a row dating back to the halted 2020 season and improve to 11-0 and 9-0 in the NWC standings while the Boxers fall to 0-9 on the year.

George Fox hosts Pacific (Ore.) for the final home game of 2021 and will honor their three seniors before the game during the officials' stick checks.
