McMINNVILLE, Ore. --- The George Fox women's tennis team faced Whitworth in the opening round of the 2021 Northwest Conference Tournament and fell to the Pirates, 5-3.

How It Happened

The Bruins captured one of the three doubles points after Ellie Mangan and Olivia Morris captured the third flight 8-2.

Mangan also won her fourth flight singles match with a 6-1, 6-2 final. Danielle Brown won her singles matchup at the third flight, 6-4, 6-1, to account for the Bruins' third point of the match.

Linfield won two of the three doubles and three singles flights to seal the win.

The loss means that the Bruins' best season in program history comes to a close with a 9-3 record after two All-NWC selections and a well-deserved Coach of the Year honor for coach Rick Cruz.
