Box Score FOREST GROVE, Ore. -- In the final game of the Ken Schumann classic, George Fox beat Northwest Indian College 104-73 for their first win of the season.
How It HappenedÂ
The first half was a struggle for the Bruins, as they couldn't get shots to fall with consistency. The Bruins were down by as many as 10 points in the first and went into the second half down by four.Â
To start the second, the Bruins came out aggressive defensively to start the second half. They took a 48-42 lead and never looked back. Fox shot 7-14 from behind the arc in the half, which complimented the high number of steals they accumulated. They had 44 fast break points in the game, the majority of which came in the second.Â
The defense of the Bruins was the driving point of their success — in the first half, Northwest Indian College shot 53% from the field, and in the second they only shot 36%. Fox was able to force 33 turnovers and scored 40 points off of those turnovers as well. Fox had 23 steals in the game.Â
