McMINNVILLE, Ore. – With several first place finishes by the George Fox track team, the Bruins' took first place in both the Men's and Women's meet on a wind-aided day at the Jenn Boyman Memorial Invite.
Top Performances
A pair of Bruins won the 800 meter run, with
Trevor Wilber winning the Men's race with a time of 1:58, and
Brenna Sclair took the women's 800 with a 2:23.
Annalise Gonzales and
Jessica Neal were next, finishing second and third in the women's 1500m.
Aidan Arthur continued the long-distance teams' dominant day with a 1500-meter win in the Men's race.
In the Men's 3000 meter steeplechase,
Gavin Grass paced himself to a first-place finish with a time of 9:24.
Kylie Bean and
Elizabeth Warren came next with a 2-3 performance in the women's 400.
Ben Meade won the hammer throw with a throw of 169-11, continuing his impressive season. Meade's throw places him in the top 10 in program history.
The men's high jump saw
James King leap past the competition, winning with a jump of 6-04.25. Maddie O'Hare and
Marina Carroll finished in second and third in the women's event.
Christine Strickland and Ellena Corwin went 1-2 in the women's javelin, throwing 140-05 and 127-04, respectively.
Andrew Quach and
Ethan Kassebaum took the top two spots in their competition as well. Quach won the men's long jump with a jump of 24-04.50 feet. While Quach's jump was aided by more than the NCAA and NWC standard of 2.0 meters/second of wind — therefore nullifying him of record status — Kassebaum's was under the threshold, giving him a school record.
In just his second attempt at the men's triple jump
Dieumerci Migani won the event with a jump of 48-06.25 feet. Migani's mark is good for second all-time.
Fox ended the day with a first place finish in the women's 4x400 relay.
What Comes Next
The Bruins are sending their decathlon and heptathlon athletes to Tacoma, Washington, to compete in the Northwest Conference Multi's on the 10th and 11th of April. The next meet that will see the entire team competing comes on April 15, at the Lewis & Clark Invitational in Portland.
