McMINNVILLE, Ore. -- One day after several athletes traveled to Euegen for the Oregon Twilight, the George Fox track and field team split time in both McMinnville and Portland, competing in the Linfield Open and Portland Twilight.
How It Happened - Linfield Open
Kylie Bean got things going in McMinnville with a second place finish in the women's 400m, finishing with a time of 59.22.
Payton Davidson was next up with a second-place spot of her own in the pole vault, finishing with a height of 11-03.75.
Ben Meade was one of four Bruins to pick up an individual win on Saturday, taking the crown in the men's hammer throw with a of 177-06.
Elena Corwin,
Ethan Kassebaum, and
Levi Gibson were the other Fox athletes to place first: Corwin was victorious in the javelin with a throw of 130-10, Kassebaum took first in the long jump with a mark of 24-01.50, and Gibson won the pole vault with a 14-11.00.Â
Alongside these Fox victories,
Andrew Quach placed third in the long jump with his mark of 22-10.00 and
Payton Davidson finished third in the women's pole vault with her 11-03.75.
How It Happened - Portland Twilight
Miles away in Portland, several other Bruins took part in the track-only Portland Twilight. In individual competitions,
Jessica Neal and
Gavin Grass were the top finishers in the 3000m steeplechase, with Neal placing fifth and Grass coming in sixth.
What Happens Next
The Bruins will return to Stoffer Family Stadium on Friday, May 12 for the field events of the Portland Distance Carnival. The meet will begin at 10:00, with track events to take place the following day in Portland, Ore.
