McMinnville, Ore. -- The George Fox swim program faced off against the Linfield Wildcats in their third dual meet of the early season, competing in 22 events across both the men's and women's programs. Both teams ultimately came up short, with the women falling 76-123, and the men losing, 79-125.
Top Performances
The Bruins opened the meet with solid performances in both the men's and women's 400 medley relay. The men's team of
Aries Valenzuela,
Strom Nordeng,
Cameron Alexander and
Wyatt Greene finished in 3:45.31 to secure second, while Ziet Stapelman,
Riley Parker,
Ellie Hoover and
Laurel Knox also clinched second with their mark of 4:24.69
Jesse Urback was the best finisher for Fox in the women's division of the 1000 freestyle, coming in second with her time of 11.42.70. On the men's side,
Jeremiah Latin led the Bruins with his third place in 11:20.00.
Cameron Alexander continued his strong start to the season in the men's 200 freestyle, taking second with his time of 1:58.00. In the women's division
Kaylee Dicey impressed, securing second in 2:07.55.Â
Riley Parker led the Bruins in the women's 50 freestyle, clocking in at 25.83 to secure third.
August Maberry followed suit in the men's event, claiming second with a time of 23.26.
Aries Valenzuela also secured a podium finish, his time of 23.28 good enough for third place.
Jesse Urback had another solid performance in the women's 200 medley, placing second with her time of 2:25.65.
Wyatt Greene clinched third in the men's race, clocking in with 2:09.40.
Ellie Hoover had a strong swim in the women's 200 butterfly, finishing second in 2:32.92. On the men's side,
Aiden Buchanan was the best finisher, placing second with his time of 2:10.35.
In the women's 100 freestyle event
Mia Smith and
Heidi Gray impressed, racing neck-and-neck to secure second and third for the Bruins. Smith finished with a time of 59.09, while Opdahl was right on her heels with a mark of 59.82.
Aries Valenzuela clinched another podium in the men's 100 freestyle, this time taking second place with his mark of 50.71.
In the women's 500 freestyle,
Laurel Knox led the way, taking second place with her time of 5:40.85. Fox also picked up a second place finish on the men's side, as
Micah Hugo had a strong swim to clock in with 5:26.82.
Christopher McLellan was the first Bruin to pick up a win in the men's 100 backstroke, topping the leaderboard with a mark of 2:13.17.
Zoey Stapelman claimed second place on the women's side, clocking in with 2:29.03.
Riley Parker took home the next race victory for Fox when she dominated the field in the women's 200 breaststroke, winning with a time of 2:37.80 – six seconds ahead of the rest of the field.Â
The Bruins ended the meet with the 400 yard freestyle relay events. In the men's division,

Aiden Buchanan,
Jared Gray and
Kaden Oprea clinched second with their time of 3:34.90. In the women's event
Kaylee Dicey,
Claire Kuiper,
Jesse Urback and
Mia Smith finished the race in 4:01.60, finishing second place to wrap up the meet.

The Bruins will return to the pool for their first home meet of the season on Friday, November 15th in a duel against the Lewis and Clark Pioneers. The first race is set for 1:00 p.m. at the Chehalem Aquatic Center.
