LAKE OSWEGO, Ore. -- The George Fox men's golf team took third overall in the fall season-ending Confluence Classic, shooting a 589 (+13) on the day.
Top Performances
Leading the Bruins on the day was
Luke Powell started off strong on the front nine, birdieing the fourth, seventh, and eighth holes. Â Powell scored 72 (E) on the day for a total score of 149 (+5) in the tournament, placing 15th.Â
Ian Powers and
Truman Fletcher tied for seventh overall, both scoring 73 (+1) on the day and 145 (+1) total throughout the tournament. Powers was also strong on the front nine, birdieing the second and third holes. He later birdied the 17th hole. Fletcher also had three birdies on the second, seventh, and 15th holes.Â
Eli Harrell wasn't far behind, scoring 146 (+2) on the day, birdieing the fourth, 14th, and 18th holes. Harrel's total score was 150 (+6), placing 19th overall.
Joel Martinez Jr. closed out the tournament for George Fox, scoring 78 (+6). Martinez had two birdies in the front nine, and finished strong with an eagle on the 15th hole. Overall, Martinez scored 158 (+14) for a 34th place finish.Â
Spearheading the George Fox B team was
Christian Chacon, golfing under par with a 71 (-1) — with an impressive six birdies on the day. Chacon's total score was 144 (E). Next was
Ian MacArthur, remaining consistent with two birdies on the front nine, followed by two more on the back nine. MacArthur scored 79 (+7) for a total score of 158 (+14).Â
Blake Johnston birdied the fourth and seventh holes for a score of 80 (+8), contributing to a total score of 171 (+27) on the weekend.
Otto Klein rounded out the day for the Bruins, golfing 82 (+10) on the day for a total score of 168 (+24).Â
George Fox finished third overall with a score of 589 (+13). Whitman placed first overall with a score of 569 (-7). Whitman's Grady Brown was the medalist of the Confluence Classic with a total score of 140 (-4) individually.Â
What Happens Next
The Bruins look forward to starting their 2026 season this spring, hoping to build off of the momentum from the fall.
