HILLSBORO, Ore. – The Northwest Conference office announced its Student-Athletes of the Week for the week of November 11–17, with Gabrielle Patti and Hanne Hopkins named to the weekly honor roll.

Just three weeks into her collegiate swim career, Patti continued making strides, winning every individual event she competed in against Whitworth and Whitman. The freshman won the 200-yard freestyle (1:57.87) by more than three seconds versus the Pirates, and won the 100-yard backstroke (1:00.20) as well. Patti also claimed two events against Whitman in the 200 back (2:14.30) and the 200 individual medley (2:13.00), both the top times in the conference. The freshman's performance helped the Bruin women win their first dual meet over the Blues in program history. For the weekend, all but one of Patti's times were top in the NWC — with her 1:00.20 backstroke mark only beaten by her own 57.77 two weeks earlier.

For the women's basketball team, Hanne Hopkins had a solid all-around performance in a hard-fought 75–72 loss against a 5–0 Corban team that also took down Western Oregon in the same week. The junior totaled 16 points, seven rebounds, and a career-high nine assists to keep the Bruins within reach, shooting 7–13 from the field. Hopkins scored or assisted on 16 of the Bruins' final 18 points, shooting a perfect 3–3 from the field in the final minutes. The award is Hopkins' second career NWC Student-Athlete of the Week honor.

Patti and the swim team will be hosting the Bruin Invite at the Chehalem Parks & Recreation Aquatic Center this weekend, November 22 and 23, while Hopkins and the women's basketball team will host Warner Pacific this Wednesday, November 19.
