Bruins Land Three on All-NWC Team

4/17/2025 4:46:00 PM

HILLSBORO, Ore. -- The Northwest Conference office announced its All-NWC Women's Tennis Teams, with three Bruins picking up conference honors. Kalli Wiker and Riley Bobkiewicz both received All-NWC first team honors, while Shanah Denham secured her place on the All-NWC second team.

Kalli Wiker secured her spot on the All-NWC first team for the second straight year, boasting an impressive 18-4 singles record and an 11-10 doubles record. After playing the majority of her matches in the one spot all last year, Wiker bounced between the one and two spots with fellow All-NWC first team recipient Riley Bobkiewicz. Wiker finished the regular season strong, winning her final 10 straight singles matches of the season. She boasted an impressive 13-1 singles record over conference opponents and was dominant all season long.

Bobkiewicz, the reigning NWC Rookie of the Year, improved from her finish last year on the conference second team, notching All-NWC first team honors in 2025. As mentioned earlier, Bobkiewicz split time in the No. 1 singles spot with Wiker, primarily shifting up to face players with bigger games. She finished the regular season with a 6-12 singles record and a 9-11 doubles record, and was one of two new faces on the All-NWC first team this season.

Denham rounded out the honors for the Bruins, earning All-NWC second team honors for the first time in her young career. She played primarily in the No. 3 singles spot, and floated between the No. 1 and No. 2 doubles teams throughout the year as well. She finished with an impressive 15-7 singles record and a 10-10 doubles record, including starting her season a perfect 7-0 in doubles play.

Bruins head coach Rick Cruz speaks highly of the trio and is impressed with how they've played this season. "Kalli, Riley, and Shanah all played great throughout the season, and it's nice to see them get recognized for their play," said Cruz. "I couldn't be more proud of them!"

The Bruins have their eyes set on a Northwest Conference title this weekend after finishing the regular season 15-7. This included a fantastic 11-3 record in conference play, setting up a rematch with Pacific in the NWC Semi-Finals. The team travels to Walla Walla, Washington, on Friday, April 18th, to face the Boxers. The match is scheduled to start no earlier than 2:00 pm.
