HILLSBORO, Ore. -- The 2025-26 All-Northwest Conference volleyball rosters and major awards have been announced by the conference office, with two Bruins being named to the teams.
Kylie Ritter became the third Bruin in
Lauren Howard's three seasons to be named to First Team All-NWC, doing so thanks to an incredible back half of the season. Ritter came off the bench in seven of the first 10 games of the season before shifting to a permanent starting role — and the senior made sure to make the most of it.
After averaging 8.3 points per game in the first 10 games of the season, Ritter averaged 13.6 points for the remainder of the season — and averaged 16.2 points and 9.2 rebounds in the final seven games as several Bruin starters missed time due to injury. Three times in the final seven games, the senior totaled a double-double, including a 28-point, 10-rebound game against Whitworth on Valentine's Day. For her efforts, Ritter picked up her first All-NWC honor, finishing second in NWC Player of the Year voting behind Linfield's Allie Mead.
"Kylie has been consistent for us all year, providing a little of everything," Bruin head coach
Lauren Howard said, "Then, when we had three key players go down with injuries, she really stepped up and provided so much more than just a solid stat line. She kept us grounded and rooted in what our goals are."
A NWC First Teamer in the 2024-25 season,
Hanne Hopkins battled through injury in the back half of the season to pick up a Second Team All-NWC honor in 2025-26. Hopkins averaged 13.4 points per game — the most since Justine Benner averaged 17.7 points per game in the 2016-17 campaign — to go alongside 5.0 rebounds and a team-high 4.0 assists.
Hopkins missed four games down the stretch due to injury, but played in the final two games of the year, recording 11 points against Pacific and nine against Linfield. The junior, who was NWC Student-Athlete of the Week three times throughout the season, nearly recorded a triple-double in the early stages of the year with an 18-point, nine-rebound, nine-assist game against Warner Pacific.
"Hanne has led by example and helped push her teammates all season," Howard said, "She faced adversity and continued to stay locked in and be there for her team."
Thanks to the efforts of Ritter, Hopkins, and the entire GFU team, the Bruins have won 10 NWC games in back-to-back seasons for the first time in six seasons, advancing to their second straight Northwest Conference Tournament. Fox will face the No. 1-seeded Linfield Wildcats on Friday, February 27, at 7:30 pm. Live stats, live video, and a free audio stream link are all available on the GFU Athletics website.
