MOLALLA, Ore. -- The George Fox men's golf team hosted day two of the GFU Invitational and wrapped up with a day two score of 298 (+14), and in fourth place overall with a total score of 595 (+27), behind Linfield, Pacific Lutheran, and Whitworth.
Top Performances
Eli Harrell showed out for the Bruins, finishing third overall, with an impressive score of 144 (+2). He hit three birdies in the front nine, finishing two total under par (33 (-3)), and also held one birdie on the back half, balancing out the front to finish with a 71 (E).
Truman Fletcher got the most impressive mark of the day, hitting an eagle on the 18th, as well as one birdie to open up the first half (35 (+2)). Fletcher finished strong with a beautiful eagle on 18 to tie for 24th place overall, 152 (+10), thanks to a 75 (+1)..
Christian Chacon showed with one birdie as well on the 13th, which, with his combined day one score, ended tied for 19th place, 151 (+9).
Ian Powers hit a birdie in each half and a collection of bogeys, slotting him tied for 26th, 153 (+11).
Luke Powell hit all par on the front nine, resulting in a score of 35 on the dot. He slid into a tie for 32nd, 155 (+13), with a 76 (+50 on day two..
Blake Johnston and
Otto Klein competed individually, and each held a handful of bogeys, with Klein claiming a birdie on the 12th. Johnston came in tied for 41st place, 157 (+15), and Klein 68th, 184 (+42).
The Bruins closed in fourth, 595 (+27), not too far behind first-place Linfield, 588 (+20). Whitworth's Matthew Durkin was the medalist with a score of 141 (-1), winning in a three-hole playoff against PLU's Koen Solis.

The Bruins will travel on up to Dupont, Wash., for the Northwest Conference Spring Classic on Saturday, April 4th.
