Box Score TACOMA, Wash. --- The George Fox football team hit the road Saturday in a game against the University of Puget Sound. Despite a fourth quarter comeback, the Loggers beat the Bruins, 43-35.

The Loggers are ranked at No. 4 in Div. III football when it comes to passing yards, averaging 353.8 yards in the air. On Saturday, the Loggers managed to grow that average throwing for 575 yards in the game. UPS got off to a quick lead, scoring 14 points in the first quarter to take a 14-0 advantage. The second quarter was the most productive for both teams, as the Bruins scored three times and the Loggers added on two touchdowns and two field goals. The first Bruin touchdown of the day came from Derek Richwine when Grant Schroeder found the big tight end for 22-yards. It didn't take long for the Bruins to close the gap, as Jesse Bresser returned an interception for 74-yards. John Shaffer ended the second quarter scoring for the Bruins with a tough nosed 12-yard touchdown run.
The Loggers went into the half up, 30-21.
In the start of the third quarter, the Loggers used their first possession to march down the field that ended in a 1-yard touchdown pass from QB Hans Fortune. Fortune found another receiver for a 78-yard touchdown one minute later, but the Bruins were far from done. Schroeder went to work finding Kenny May on a 33-yard touchdown pass to end the third quarter. The Bruins were the only team to find the end zone in the fourth quarter when Richwine recorded his second touchdown of the night. The Bruins ran out of time after not being able to get a late onside kick.
Top Performers:
Schroeder completed 18-of-41 passes for 267 yards and three touchdowns. Shaffer ran for 66 yards on 18 attempts and found the back of the end zone once. Brad Lander was the top receiver for the Bruins with eight catches and 144 yards. Jesse Bresser had two interceptions and eight tackles to lead the Bruins defensively.
What It Means:
The Bruins even up their record at 3-3 overall and 1-2 in the Northwest Conference. With the loss, the Bruins are still in the hunt to be one of the top four teams in the conference and currently sit in fifth.

The Bruins will play on the road again next week when they travel to Pacific Lutheran on Saturday, October 24 with kickoff at 1:00 p.m.
