NEWBERG, Ore. --- The No. 2-ranked Bruins gave an all-around effort Friday night, as George Fox recorded four players in double figures to defeat the Wildcats of Linfield College, 84-54.
Recap:
The Bruins were on fire in the opening minutes of the first quarter, using a 10-2 run in the first three minutes to control the pace of the game. The fun didn't stop there, either, as the Bruins increased their lead to 11 at the 4:46 mark after Anjenae Torregano knocked down a nice jumper, 15-4. The Bruins ended the first quarter in a comfortable double digit lead, 24-13.
The lead jumped up 19 in the second quarter when Kim Frost made a steal in the front court and glided in for an easy two point score, 32-13. The margin stayed in double digits for the remainder of the second half, as both teams traded baskets back-and-forth.
George Fox went into the break up by 17, 43-26. Sammy Naluai led the Bruins at the half with 11, while Kim Frost recorded 10 points and five steals.
The Wildcats put up a good fight in the third quarter, but every run they started was halted by the Bruins with a quick answer. The Bruins pushed their lead to 27 after freshman Tavin Headings knocked down a deep three at the 1:05 mark, 66-39.
Sade Elliott continued the momentum for the Bruins in the fourth, as she made a tough-nosed move into the paint to draw the and-one. Matney Jamieson was also crucial for the Bruins in the fourth quarter, as the freshman battled in the paint with her 16 minutes of play.
The Bruins went on to close out the game on a six point run.
Top Performers:
The Bruins had 11 players play 10 or more minutes in the game and four players recorded double figures. Jamieson tallied 13 on the night and set a new career-high on her performance. Nicole Blizzard also scored 13 points and went a perfect 3-of-3 from the 3-point line. Frost finished with 12 points and one steal shy of tying her career-high (5). Naluai completed her night with 11.
What It Means:
The Bruins improve to 17-0 on the season and 8-0 in the Northwest Conference.

The Bruins will enjoy a nice long rest before they host Pacific next week on Friday, January 29th at 6:00 p.m.
