SPOKANE --- The George Fox baseball team faced the Pirates of Whitworth to finish their season series and fell in the series finale by a final score of 12-0.
Recap
The Bruins put Chase Fetzer on the mound for his third start of the season but it was a short-lived appearance. Fetzer was lifted after working three innings and the Bruins filled the final five frames with single innings of effort from Issac Olson, Nate Leid, Corey Caldwell, Bradley Emmens, and Connor Carter.
After a scoreless first inning, the Pirates took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the second that would only continue to grow. A single run in the third made it 3-0 and ended Fetzer's day, but the Pirates weren't done. Two more runs in the fourth quickly put the Bruins in a 5-0 hole, and a trio of runs in the fifth for the Pirates made it 8-0.
The Bruins gave up four more runs in the eighth to make 12-0 for the Pirates. The Bruins were unable to put anything together at the plate themselves and the 12-0 advantage would hold as the final score.
