McMINNVILLE, Ore. --- The George Fox women's basketball team traveled to McMinnville on Friday night and came away with a 61-53 victory.
How It Happened
The Bruins offense was essentially dormant in the first quarter and Linfield took a 14-7 lead after the opening period. The Bruins started kicking into gear in the second quarter, cutting the Wildcats' lead to 31-27 at the half. George Fox shot 50% from the field in the period to cut into the lead.
The Bruins took off in the second half, relying on tight defense and better cohesion on the offensive end to overcome the Wildcats and claim a win. George Fox outscored Linfield 19-10 in the third with five points each from Ella Roberts and Erin Yoshitake, as well as a pair of key three-pointers to give the Bruins a 46-41 going into the final frame. The Bruins slowed down the pace and closed out the win in the fourth quarter, holding on for the 61-53 victory.
Top Performers
Cassidy Posey led the Bruins with 11 points and Erin Yoshitake added 10 more. Ella Roberts tallied eight points and seven rebounds.

The Bruins are 4-2 on the season with the win over the Wildcats, and Linfield falls to 1-6 this season.
