MCMINNVILLE, Ore. --- George Fox hit the course again this weekend in the Wildcat Invitational hosted by Linfield University. After coming off of a rough outing in California, the Bruins looked to bounce back with some quality golf over the weekend at Michelbook Country Club.

How it Happened 
The Bruins bounced back nicely on Saturday, shooting a 14-over 302, landing them in second place after the first round. Five of the seven team members placed in the top 25, with Mason Rohleder and Dante Heitschmidt and Mason Rohleder fourth and fifth respectively.

Top Performances
After shooting +6 on front nine, Rohleder battled back, going 4-under on the back nine to finish +2 on the day. Though the bogeys and birdies essentially canceled each other out, Heitschmidt managed to use consistency to his advantage, landing an eagle on the 18th to push him to 1-over on the day. Following right on the footsteps of his teammate Rohleder, Lackey fought through a tough series of holes to card a 5-over 77, placing him at number nine on the leaderboard. Going tit for tat with Lackey, Brenden Borck finished the day at 6-over for a solid 78, landing him in a 10th place tie after day one.

What It Means
The Bruins look to command the course again Sunday in the final round of the tournament.
