WALLA WALLA, Wash. -- the George Fox men's golf team tied in third with a score of 293 after their first day of play in the NWC Spring Classic.
Top Performers
Blake Johnston was on fire today for the place in third overall and first for the Bruins with a score of 70 (-2) after the first round of play. Johnston had a birdie and eight pars in the front nine and four birdies and two pars in the back nine.
Brenden Borck had a score of 73 (+1) after the first day of the tournament and finished in second for the Bruins and 13th overall. Borck had a total of four birdies and eight pars over the course of the first round.
Truman Fletcher wrapped up the first round with an overall score of 74 (+2) and came in 21st place. Fletcher had seven pars on the front nine and six pars and two birdies on the back nine.
Cole Rivers placed 32nd overall with a score of 76 (+4) and scored six pars and one birdie in the front nine. Rivers then had six more pars in the back nine.
Ian Powers placed in 34th and had a score of 77 (+5). Powers had a birdie and six pars in the front nine and seven pars in the back nine.
The Bruin men's golf team is tied with Puget Sound for third place in the first round of the tournament.
